noun /ˈbreɪk.θruː/
Optimal stocking decisions mean only relevant raw material gets stored in the warehouse
Scraping only the irrelevant material means the warehouse always have the required items
All the decisions taken by the AI are fully explainable and could be reviewed by a human operator
The storage of raw material is expensive and only possible for a limited time and space. Filling the warehouse with material that is not needed results in higher inventory costs. Along with the costs, the complexity of storing and retrieving items from the warehouse increases as more and more (unwanted) material gets stored.
On the other hand, if a material is sent to the scrapyard when it maybe needed in the next weeks, this maybe cause unwanted increase in cost of production. Not to mention the increase in lead time and lost productivity.
fabrications per day are impacted
?? sqm restocked and reused
?? sqm of warehouse space freed up
Restocking dimensions set based on simple statistics were not ideal and led to considerable financial disadvantages. In order to optimize material storage, our AI powered tool took a variety of factors into account that would have been impossible to do manually. Historic data, domain knowledge from the motivated engineers and business team and their open mindedness towards AI resulted in this success story. This project is a brilliant example of how AI and Data can be leveraged to minimize waste, improve sustainability, and help make the earth a better place.
Our tool decides whether or not a raw material should be restocked based on future demand for products and current as well as future stock of the raw material. We achieve this by forecasting sales orders, and simulating an optimal allocation of orders on to raw materials. Easy to use interfaces for full explainability of the decisions of the tool.
However here are a few common pain points that we often see, which can be solved through our programs and will lead to an AI breakthrough.
